Databases
Redis
Versions, the default user and connection addresses for Redis, which Cloud does not back up.
Updated
Cloud runs Redis from the official redis image, at the major version you choose. Databases covers creating, the Connection card, passwords and public access for every engine; this page holds what is particular to Redis.
| Setting | Redis |

| Versions offered | 8, 7.4, 7.2. The form lists them as "Redis 8" and so on, newest first, and chooses 8 |
| Port inside the project | 6379 |
| Database name | None. The form has no Database name field |
| User | default, Redis's own. The form has no Username field |
| Password | Generated as 32 letters and digits, or your own of 12 to 128 letters, digits, dots, hyphens, underscores or tildes |
| Address scheme | redis:// |
| Data directory | /data |
Connection addresses
Copy both from the Connection card, which fills in the password, the host and the public port for you.
redis://default:<password>@<internal host>:6379redis://default:<password>@<public address>:<public port>Choosing the version
The version is fixed once Redis first starts. Choose it on the create form, or on the Connection card before you press Deploy for the first time. The password can still change after that, as for every engine.
Backups
Cloud takes no backups of Redis. The create form shows "Automatic backups unavailable" with "Automatic database backups are not available for Redis.", Add backup schedule does not offer a Redis service, and there is no Backup before deployment for it.
Redis has a Data volume at /data like every database, but Cloud keeps no copy of it anywhere else. Keep data you cannot rebuild in one of the other databases, which Cloud can back up.
