The session cookie Cloud sets when a customer signs in to the console with GitHub or Google. It is HttpOnly, so scripts cannot read it, and there are no API keys or tokens yet.

This is a browser navigation, not a fetch: open it as a link and the browser follows the redirect to GitHub. The console's Connect and Add account buttons under Settings, Git providers go here.
On GitHub, choose the account and the repositories the App may read. GitHub then sends the browser back to Cloud, which connects the installation only when the GitHub user who installed it can see it among their own installations, and returns to the console's Git providers settings. The signed state in the link lasts 15 minutes; an install finished after that, or refused for any other reason, returns with ?error=github and connects nothing. Start again from the console.
Installing again on the same account updates its connection rather than adding one. Repositories granted or removed later on GitHub need nothing here: List repositories reads the grant. Deploy from GitHub walks through it in the console.
